Enjoy an exciting day trip on ‘The Statesman’ to the dynamic and vibrant waterfront city of Portsmouth to visit the numerous attractions including the fabulous Royal Naval Dockyard home to HMS Victory and the Mary Rose.

Our train will arrive at Harbour Station which is only a short walk to the Historic Dockyard (admission payable locally) home to Henry VIII’s flagship the Mary Rose that remained at the seabed for 437 years, until it was raised and put on an intensive conservation programme. Now, the ship takes pride of place at the centre of its very own museum where visitors can see the ship in all her glory – Also, board the world’s most famous warship, HMS Victory, and try the new audio guide as the drama of the battle of Trafalgar unfolds, and visit the Victorian powerhouse HMS Warrior, as well as unique Gallipoli Campaign survivor – HMS M.33.

Perhaps take a harbour boat tour or visit the attraction that is fast becoming the modern emblem of Portsmouth – the Spinnaker Tower stands 170 metres above Gunwharf Quays – making it taller than Big Ben, the London Eye and Blackpool Tower.
