During the festive season, the opulent Pullman style carriages of our celebrated ‘Statesman’ train are aptly transformed, capturing the wonderful spirit of Christmas. Relax in armchair comfort and enjoy a succulent 7-course meal with all the trimmings as the beautiful winter countryside passes by. Whether a festive gift for someone special or simply a chance to spoil yourself, this wonderful experience promises a day to remember.

 

This special circular tour offers a journey through Britain’s rich winter landscapes as we travel past historic Shrewsbury and over the spectacular Welsh Marches on the border between England and Wales. Continuing through Wrexham over the River Dee we pass under the Roman walls at Chester and then along the rural Cheshire Plain with distant views of Beeston Castle, to Crewe where we head homeward through Whitchurch relaxed and refreshed as we reflect on memories and times spent with loved ones on this truly elegant vintage train.

Bookings for parties of three passengers are accommodated at an ‘exclusive table for three’ with the fourth seat being unoccupied for your added privacy. A total supplement of £280 is applicable for this seating type

Seating is at tables of 4 or 2 offering additional legroom, wide seats, and panoramic windows with tables laid with crisp linen and fully dressed in fine crockery, fresh flowers, and glassware. After being welcomed aboard by your attentive liveried steward a glass of chilled champagne and selection of canapes will be offered as you relax in anticipation of the gastronomic journey ahead. A sumptuous seven course seasonal luncheon created by our Executive Chef will be served including the Great British cheese board, biscuits, and chutneys – all accompanied by our Sommelier’s choice of a half bottle of wine per person. The memorable journey will conclude with service of coffee and homemade petits fours as you arrive back relaxed and refreshed.
