We are delighted to present a two day weekend break to the Highlands of Scotland at this most dramatic and beautiful time of year – Travel will be on board the celebrated ‘Statesman’ Train over the full length of the world famous West Highland line, featuring some of the most spectacular scenery Scotland has to offer as we cross magnificent bridges and viaducts with our train climbing high into the mountains with views of tumbling waterfalls, peaceful lochs and the prospect of snow covered mountains as they glisten in winter sunlight. Overnight accommodation will be in quality 3 star hotels in Fort William.
Saturday: Our train travels north over Shap summit with views of the Lakeland mountains before crossing the border at Gretna followed by the climb to Beattock Summit before taking the route around the north of Glasgow and along the banks of the Clyde where we join the scenic West Highland line at Craigendoran. Passing Loch Long and Loch Lomond we climb through Glen Falloch into the mountains for a memorable journey over the wild expanse of snow covered Rannoch Moor with an arrival in Fort William at approx 18.45 with time to relax before the service of dinner in the hotel.
