All timings shown above are provisional - Tickets and confirmed final timings will be forwarded to you by post and you should receive these no later than approximately 7 days prior to the date of departure.We are delighted to present a two day weekend break to the Highlands of Scotland at this most beautiful time of year with the heather carpeting the mountains and autumn leaves turning to a burnished gold – Travel will be on board the celebrated ‘Statesman’ train over the Highland main line, featuring some of the most spectacular scenery Scotland has to offer as we cross magnificent bridges and viaducts with views of tumbling waterfalls and peaceful lochs. Overnight accommodation will be in quality 3 star hotels in Inverness with all rooms en-suite.

We are delighted to present a two day weekend break to the Highlands of Scotland at this most beautiful time of year with the heather carpeting the mountains and autumn leaves turning to a burnished gold – Travel will be on board the celebrated ‘Statesman’ train over the Highland main line, featuring some of the most spectacular scenery Scotland has to offer as we cross magnificent bridges and viaducts with views of tumbling waterfalls and peaceful lochs. Overnight accommodation will be in quality 3 star hotels in Inverness with all rooms en-suite.

Our train travels north with views of the Lakeland mountains and after Carlisle we cross the border at Gretna and climb to Beattock Summit. Then head through Stirling and start the steady climb into the mountains passing through Perth to the picturesque highland Victorian town of Pitlochry where there is an afternoon break to perhaps take a stroll along the shores of Loch Faskally and view the massive Dam and fish ladder, alternatively there are numerous eateries and unique shops on the high street to explore. Our train continues through the Pass of Killiecrankie then over the highest railway summit in Britain at Druimuachdar (1,484 ft), and on through the Cairngorm National Park for an arrival into the highland capital of Inverness at around 19.30.Saturday: Our train travels north with views of the Lakeland mountains and after Carlisle we cross the border at Gretna and climb to Beattock Summit. Following a hearty Scottish breakfast perhaps enjoy a stroll beside the River Ness before our train departs mid morning for the journey past Culloden and over Slochd with magnificent views of the heather clad Cairngorm mountains, we pass the famous Dalwhinnie Distillery and at Perth take the unusual routing through Ladybank and along the coastal route over the iconic Forth Bridge to the beautiful and enchanting capital Edinburgh for an afternoon break. The station is located just below one of the UK’s most historic and popular shopping areas – Princes Street. There is something for everyone in this city with numerous attractions all within easy walking distance – from a stroll down the Royal Mile to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, or the impressive fortress of Edinburgh Castle. Scotland’s capital has something for everyone. Pullman Class: Accommodation will be in either the “Royal Highland Hotel” situated adjacent to the station, or “Ramada Jarvis Hotel” on the banks of the River Ness. Seating on the train is in ‘Pullman’ style open carriages. Included in the meal service on board the train is a glass of bucks fizz with breakfast, Champagne and a quarter bottle of house wine served with 3 course Dinner’s.

Accommodation will be in either the “Royal Highland Hotel” situated adjacent to the station, or “Ramada Jarvis Hotel” on the banks of the River Ness. Seating on the train is in ‘Pullman’ style open carriages. Included in the meal service on board the train is a glass of bucks fizz with breakfast, Champagne and a quarter bottle of house wine served with 3 course Dinner’s. Premier Class: Accommodation will be in the same hotels as Pullman Class with seating on the train in 1st class open carriages. The meal service on board is as specified below.

Standard & First Class: Accommodation will be in the “Ramada Encore Hotel” just 200 yards from the station and there are numerous eateries locally should you require a meal on Saturday evening. A Buffet Bar is available throughout the journey for the sale of hot & cold beverages, sandwiches, snacks and alcoholic drinks.

On Train Meals: (Premier and Pullman only)
Saturday: Full English Breakfast and three course Dinner.
Sunday: Light Luncheon and three course Dinner.
