This stunning journey takes us over two very different and spectacular routes through the very heart of Wales. The Statesman train travels through mile after mile of glorious rolling hills and rugged mountains with the beautiful Brecon Beacons towering above. There will be a stop for around an hour at the elegant Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells following which our train continues over the scenic and unexplored heart of Wales line to Cardiff where there will be a further sightseeing break of around two hours.
Following the stop at Llandrindod Wells our train starts the taxing climb into the mountains and over Sugar Loaf summit, then through the picturesque South Wales valleys towards Swansea and onward to the Welsh Capital of Cardiff where there will be time for sightseeing or a little retail therapy before we return over the beautiful Welsh Marches route, renowned for its breathtaking scenery we pass through historic Hereford, Leominster and Shrewsbury.

Standard Class
Reserved seating is arranged in groups of 4 around a table with bookings for 2 seated side by side in open carriages - a buffet bar is available throughout most of the journey for the purchase of hot & cold beverages, snacks and alcoholic drinks. It is in order to bring on board your own hamper and picnics for consumption on or off the train should you so desire.

Premier Dining
Reserved seating is arranged in groups of 4 or 2 around a table in 1st class open carriages with additional legroom, wide seats and panoramic windows. A full English breakfast and a four course dinner will be prepared on board by our chefs and silver served at your reserved seat by liveried stewards. A full wine & drinks list is available with an ‘at seat’ service during the meals. Further refreshments during the journey may be purchased from the buffet bar.

Pullman Dining
This is the ultimate travel experience – seating is in our refurbished Pullman style umber & cream air conditioned wood panelled open carriages ‘Apollo’ & ‘Sovereign’ offering additional legroom, wide seats and panoramic windows with seating arranged in groups of 4 or 2 around a table laid with crisp linen and fully dressed with the finest crockery and glassware. The ticket price includes a reserved seat, glass of chilled bucks fizz followed by a full English breakfast and late morning tea/coffee service with pastries prior to the arrival at our destination. On the return journey you will be welcomed back on board with a glass of chilled champagne and a selection of tempting canapés will be served followed by a four course dinner with ¼ bottle of house wine, and coffee with petits fours. An ‘at seat’ drinks service is available for purchase throughout the day.
